CREDITS TO REGISTER AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

MINIMUM credits to register
New students registering for the first time

New students registering for the first time, via the pre-registration process, to take the first year of university undergraduate studies:

  • Full-time students: minimum of 60 credits (*)
  • Part-time students: minimum of 12 credits
  • Double degree students: all the first year's credits

(*) The aforementioned minimum of 60 credits does not apply to full-time students who have credits from advanced vocational training validated or have other credits recognized. However, such students must register for all first-year credits
they have not obtained through validation or recognition.

Students of subsequent years
  • Full-time students: minimum of 24 credits
  • Part-time students: minimum of 12 credits
  • Double degree students: minimum of 42 credits

The minimums in question do not apply to students who require fewer than the stated number of credits to complete their studies.

MAXIMUM credits to register
  • Full-time students: maximum of 75 credits per year (of which no more than 66 may be credits for which they have not registered previously)
  • Part-time students: 42 credits
  • Double degree students: 87 credits
ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

For students already registered at the UdL these requirements will be applied as from academic year 2018-19.

First academic year:

Undergraduate students must obtain in their first academic year, at least, the number of credits states as follow:

  • Full-time students: minimum of 12 credits from basic and compulsory subjects
  • Part-time students: minimum of 6 credits from basic and compulsory subjects
  • Double degree students: minimum of 18 credits from basic and compulsory subjects
Second year as registered stdents:

Undergraduate students must obtain in their second academic year, at least, the number of credits states as follow:

  • Full-time students: minimum of 36 credits from basic and compulsory subjects
  • Part-time students: minimum of 18 credits from basic and compulsory subjects
  • Double degree students: minimum of 42 credits from basic and compulsory subjects
Third year as registered stdents:

Undergraduate students must obtain in their third academic year, at least, the number of credits states as follow:

  • Full-time students: minimum of 60 credits from basic and compulsory subjects
  • Part-time students: minimum of 36 credits from basic and compulsory subjects
  • Double degree students: minimum of 72 credits from basic and compulsory subjects
CONTINUANCE
Maximum period of continuance in undergraduate studies:
  • Full-time students and double degree students: twice the number of years corresponding to their programme's curriculum
  • Part-time students: triple the number of years corresponding to their programme's curriculum

 

Continuance in individual subjects:

THREE academic years to pass any given subject.

Any years in which a student's assessment record entry is “Absent” do not count towards the three-year period in question.

TWO academic years to pass the curricular practical subjects on bachelor’s degrees in Medicine, in Nursing, in Physiotherapy, in Pre-school Education, in Primary Education, in Psychology, in Social Education and in Social Work.

Any years in which a student's assessment record entry is “Absent” do not count towards the two-year period in question

MASTER'S DEGREES

CREDITS TO REGISTER AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

MINIMUM credits to register

Master's degree students must register for this number of credits:

  • Full-time and double master's degree students: minimum of 60 credits
  • Part-time students: minimum of 12 credits
MAXIMUM credits to register
  • Full-time and double master's degree students: maximum of 75 credits per year
  • Part-time students: 42 credits
ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

For students already registered at the UdL these requirements will be applied as from academic year 2018-19.

The UdL's full-time, part-time and double master's degree students alike must obtain at least a third of the credits for which they have registered.

CONTINUANCE
Maximum period of continuance in undergraduate studies:
  • Full-time students and double master's degree students: twice the number of years corresponding to their programme's curriculum
  • Part-time students: triple the number of years corresponding to their programme's curriculum
Continuance in individual subjects:

Three academic years to pass any given subject.
